The Honolulu Mindfulness Community (HMC) is a group of lay practitioners who follow the Plum Village tradition of Vietnamese Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. Our group is open to those interested in learning the Buddhist practices of sitting, walking and guided meditation. Our tradition is a mindfulness practice, a way to live in harmony with ourselves, each other and the Earth. It can help deepen any faith tradition, you do not need to become or be a Buddhist to participate.

True Nature - Mindful Walks in the Woods
|
Mindful walking meditation in the forest. We meet on the first Sunday of the month to mindfully walk together at Foster Botanical Garden. We begin with a short sitting meditation, then 30 minutes of silent walking meditation on the trail. The pace is slow and contemplative, with moments to pause and listen to the sound of a bell. After 30 minutes we stop to share rainbow moments (or highlights) from our week. Look for Laurel at the bench under the bodhi tree just inside the entrance to the garden. Please note that our mindfulness community focuses on living in harmony with ourselves, each other and the Earth. No previous meditation experience is necessary and you do not need to become or be a Buddhist.
When/Where: Every 1st Sunday, 9:15-10:15am at Foster Botanical Garden 180 N. Vineyard Blvd. Honolulu, HI 96817 Contact: Laurel Nakanishi [email protected] |
